This jacket is definitely a staple in my outdoor rotation. It keeps me warm, is stretchy and nonrestrictive, and incredibly comfortable. The strongest points of this jacket are its comfort and its price.This jacket is incredibly comfortable. It keeps me warm down to about 30 degrees Fahrenheit and the wicking material allows me to actually move and be active without overheating. Nothing is more irritating than a jacket that keeps you warm when you stand still, but you have to take off 5 min into any activity. The flexibility of the fabric is also great since while active it doesn't pull or pinch anywhere (usually an issue for me in the armpits or back).The price of the jacket was one of the most appealing aspects to me, as I needed something for camping and hiking that I could get a lot of heavy use. I often find that backpacking products are too delicate for heavy use every weekend, so something like this covers that gap perfectly. That being said, the price is no reflection of the quality of the material. It really does feel like a nice jacket, on par with one of my lululemon jackets of the same style and about 1/4 of the cost.Although I love this jacket, I don't think I'll be using it for backpacking excursions. It is definitely heavier than other gear I have and even rolled up is still kind of bulky. Granted, this isn't the reason I bought it but it would have been an awesome discovery if I could use it for backpacking. That being said, you definitely COULD use it for backpacking, you would just be carrying a heavier pack. The pros and cons of that are what all backpackers constantly weigh in their mind. If you wanted to get into backpacking and needed something like this, but didn't want to drop a bunch of money into it just yet, this is definitely a good choice.All-in-all, this is a great product and company and I am looking to buy some of their other products as well, such as the sun hoodies.
